Leadership Development
Building Leaders Who Strengthen Systems
Lasting systems change requires leaders who understand how institutions shape opportunity and who are prepared to improve those institutions from within. The Sims-Fayola Foundation develops leaders across multiple stages of life and professional practice, preparing them to influence classrooms, schools, communities, public policy, and civic institutions.
Our Leadership Infrastructure is designed to strengthen the human capacity communities need to create lasting change. By investing in youth leaders, educators, and emerging civic leaders, we are building a statewide network of individuals equipped to improve the systems that shape the lives of boys and young men of color.

Why Infrastructure Matters
Strong systems do not emerge by chance.
They are built and sustained by leaders who understand how beliefs, structures, daily practices, and policy decisions shape outcomes.
The Foundation invests in leadership because improving outcomes for boys and young men of color requires more than excellent programs. It requires educators who create cultures of belonging, civic leaders who understand public systems, and professionals who can influence institutions from within. By strengthening leadership across education, government, nonprofit organizations, and community systems, we help create the conditions necessary for long-term systems improvement.
